Stara Fužina and Bohinj from our door
Stara Fužina is the village above the north-east end of Lake Bohinj. Our house is at its upper end, where the paths into the Mostnica gorge and up to the mountain pastures begin.

What to do
- Summer
- Swimming and boats on the lake, a walk through the Mostnica gorge, hikes to the pastures above the village, cycling round the lake.
- Winter
- Skiing on Vogel, cross-country skiing, walks across the snowy meadows. There is storage for skis in the house.
- On a rainy day
- The Alpine Dairy Museum in the village, the Savica waterfall, a trip to Bled.
How to get here
- Leave the A2 motorway (from Ljubljana or the Karawanks tunnel) at the Lesce exit and drive past Bled towards Bohinj.
- Through Bohinjska Bistrica you reach the lake at Ribčev Laz. Cross the stone bridge by St John's church and follow the signs for Stara Fužina.
- Drive through the village to its upper end. The house number is 87, and you park by the house.
By train: Bohinjska Bistrica is on the Bohinj railway, 11 minutes by car from us.
